I haven't done something like this in a long time. But I feel up for the challenge and I hope many of you will join me.
I was browsing Pinterest the other day and found a reading challenge with 25 different categories of books to read in a year. I figured, why not challenge myself even more and make it an even 30?
No, the categories aren't based on genre. They are categories like "A book you own but haven't read." Boy do I have a bunch of those!
I kind of want to leave my choices in books a surprise, so I won't tell you what I have assigned. Just know that I've already picked books for each category.
Here are the list of categories you will be seeing me choose from.
1) A book you own but haven't read
2) A book that's been made into a movie
3) A book you pick only because of the cover
4) A book your friend loves
5) A book published this year (2016) Harry Potter and the Cursed Child
6) A book by an author you've never read
7) A book by an author you love
8) A book at the bottom of your "to read" list
9) A book with a color in the title
10) A book set somewhere you've always wanted to visit Pop Goes the Weasel
11) A book you've started but never finished
12) A book with a heroine
13) A book set in the summer time
14) A book of poems
15) A book you learned about because of this challenge
16) A book to make you smarter
17) A book with a blue cover
18) A book you were supposed to read in high school, but didn't
19) A book "everyone" has read, except you
20) A book with a great first line
21) A book with pictures
22) A book from the library
23) A book you loved, read it again!
24) A book more than 10 years old
25) A book based on a true story
26) A book from the year you were born
27) A book with a main character of a different religion than you
28) A book written by a celebrity
29) A book off of Rory Gilmore's Reading List Wicked
30) A book that's been banned or challenged
Quite an interesting collection, if I do say so myself.
Stay tuned to see where my first book fits into this challenge!
